It is very hard to believe that it is that time of the year that schools will be letting out for the Summer.
What a beautiful weekend it was for Mother’s Day this past weekend. The sun shined, temps were wonderful, hope all your mothers had a wonderful weekend.
With the weather being so nice, please be aware of the farmers who are getting started and going strong in the fields. So be aware of the farm equipment, fertilizer implements traveling on the highways.
I spent the biggest part of the day Saturday with Mom, Aunt Judy and Marcia. We enjoyed going flower shopping, going out to lunch, and making a quick trip to Walmart. Then I spent the rest of Saturday afternoon planting all the flowers in pots and planters for Mom. It was a really nice day.
Update on Mom’s health journey, she has bone spurs on C-2,3,4,5, Narrowing of the spinal canal, pinched nerves in her neck, osteoporosis, and multiple degenerations in her neck and upper back. Hopefully we will find out the next treatment this week with upcoming doctor appointments. Here is hoping the treatments will relieve the pain she has frequently in her neck.
Update on Pastor Brian with his health issues he has been having, he reported in church on Sunday morning that all of the test so far have come back good, which is such great blessings.
However, Pastors wife Lynda is a bit under the weather. Please pray everything goes well with them this week.
Sympathy is extended to the family of Jeff Patre who passed away on Monday, May 4 20206 at the University Hospital of Columbia, MO. Services were held on Friday, May 8 at Mission Hill Baptist Church in Palmyra, MO. Condolences to the entire family.
It was great to see the Jack and Gail Sharkey family, Kate, Tony, Elliot, and Ella, Little Jack, Melissa, Sara, Paige and Daniel all in attendance at Mt Olivet on Sunday morning. Gail is doing pretty well as is all of the family.
With it being Mother’s Day there were several family members in church who haven’t been there in a while, some college kids were home and just some who haven’t been at church in several Sunday’s. Glad to see them all in attendance.
Congratulations to Myrtle Mae’s located in Maywood, MO on her first-year anniversary this past weekend. There were special breakfast and lunch that was served on Saturday May 9th.
Dottie’s Funnel Cake was also set up serving Confetti Funnel Cakes that morning.
Maple Lawn Nursing Home will be holding a Car Show on Saturday, May 16th. A person can sign up from 10:30-12:00 PM and the resident judging will be at 12:30 PM. If you would like to preregister, you can call Maple Lawn at 573-769-2213. All proceeds will go to support Maple Lawn Auxiliary.
Mt Olivet Church will hold its monthly board meeting on Thursday, May 14th starting at 6:30 PM in the basement of the church.
