Shelbina OES Chapter Held Meeting

Shelbina Chapter #159 OES held a stated meeting Wednesday, May 27, 2026, with 10 members and visitors present. Chapter was opened in short form with Joyce Viloria, WM presiding. Other officers present were Charles Rosenkrans, WP; Nancy Thorndyke, AM; Lois Turner, Secy; Ruth Ann Dixso, Treas; Linda Sorrell, Cond; Leslie Rosenkrans,, Chaplain; Linda Cullifer, Organist; Ron Kribbs, Warder Pro Tem and Jim Sorrell, Sentinel. All present repeated the Pledge of Allegiance and sang the National Anthem.

Distinguished member introduced informally was Ruth Ann Dixson, DDGM of the 6th Dist. Other guest was Ron Kribbs, PP, Cairo #180.

Communications were read concerning St John’s Day and Grand Chapter. Grand Chapter will be Oct. 9-11, which is Friday, Saturday and Sunday, at the Doubletree Hotel in Springfield. The Secretary read over the itinerary, housing and social reservations. An invitation was read from Kirksville #184 for a 70-year pin presentation on June 22.

At the June 10 meeting there will be a presentation of a 50-year membership pin. There will be a sandwich, salad and dessert carry in at 6:30. The pin presentation will be between the meal and the meeting at 7:30.

The June 24 meeting will be Friendship Night with a sandwich, salad and dessert carry in at 6:30. Dress for the evening will be red, white and blue in honor of the 250th anniversary of America.

The Secretary reported that 82 members have paid their dues. She has been in contact with most of the members who have not paid their dues yet, either by phone or e-mail. If dues are not paid by June 1, membership will be suspended.

Chapter closed in regular form with members and guest retiring to the dining room for
refreshments of cherry brownies furnished by Leslie and Charles Rosenkrans. Refreshments for June 10 will be a carry in at 6:30
