Shelbina OES Chapter Holds Meeting
Shelbina Chapter #159 OES held a stated meeting Wednesday, June 24, 2026, with
17 members and guests present. Chapter opened in regular form with Joyce Viloria presiding. Other officers present were Charles Rosenkrans, WP; Nancy Thorndyke, AM; Eric Davis, AP Pro Tem; Lois Turner, Secy; Ruth Ann Dixson, Treas; Linda Sorrell, Cond; Leslie Rosenkrans, Chaplain, Mary Davis, Marshal Pro Tem; Linda Cullifer, Organist; Mary Ellen Parson, Adah; Carla Schoenborn, Esther; Jerry Bridges, Martha; Edra Beach, Electa; JoAnn Robuck, Warder Pro Tem and Jim Sorrell,
Sentinel. All present repeated the Pledge of Allegiance and sang the National Anthem.
Distinguished members introduced informally were Ruth Ann Dixson, DDGM and Jerry Bridges, Grand Representative of California. Other guests were JoAnn
Robuck of Cairo #180.
Minutes of the meeting of June 10 were read and approved. A thank you note was read from Alvina Dotson. Charity donations in the amount of $302.50 was sent to Grand Chapter. The chapter will go dark for the months of July and August with any business to be taken care of by the Worthy Matron, Secretary and Treasurer. Mary Ellen Parsons thanked the chapter for the 65-year membership pin. Linda Cullifer thanked everyone for wearing Red, White and Blue in honor of the 250th birthday of America. Lois Turner was presented a 50-year membership pin by Ruth Ann Dixson. She was initiated on June 9, 1976, into Clarence #79. She affiliated with Shelbina on January 23, 1991. She served at WM 4 times, DDGM 4 times, Grand Representative of Oregon 2009-2010 and Grand Martha in 2010. She has been Secretary in both chapters over 35 years. As this was Friendship Night, Carla Schoenborn had prepared a jar of M & M’s for everyone to guess how may was in the jar. There were 518 and Nancy
Thorndyke won the jar of M & M’s.
Prior to the meeting a delicious carry in of sandwiches, salads and desserts was enjoyed. The dining room was decorated with the red, white and blue patriotic colors.
Charles Rosenkrans led us in a history quiz about Missouri and Eric Davis was the winner.
Chapter closed in regular form. The next meeting will be September 9 and will be
Election of Officers with a carry-in of sandwiches, salads and desserts.
