Louise J. Gottman, 67, of Palmyra, Mo., passed away at 4:49 PM, Monday, September 23, 2024, at Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal, Mo. 

Friends and Family are invited to Louise’s Life Celebration at a visitation was held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Friday, September 27, 2024, at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra. 

A funeral service will was held at 11:00 AM, Friday, September 27, 2024, at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra. Pastor David Brown will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Palmyra. 

Arrangements are under the direction of the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra. 

Louise was born December 20, 1956, in Hannibal, to David Francis Brown and Rachel Geraldine Martin. She was married to John E. Gottman on June 2, 2000, in Palmyra. He preceded her in death March 25, 2022. 

Survivors include her Children, Jeannette (Caleb) Begley of New London, Joseph (Jessica) Foley of New London, Joshua Foley of Manitowoc, WI, Curtis (Addy) Gottman of Palmyra, Adam (Jessica) Gottman of Palmyra, Jacob (Hannah) Gottman of Palmyra, and Joni (Brent) Bock of Palmyra, Brothers, David (Pam) Brown of Hannibal, and John (Angie) Brown of Monroe City, Mo., Sisters, Pat McMullen of Hull, IL, and Debra Brown of Hannibal, 19 grandchildren, Jacob, Kial, and Landen Begley, Cody and Georgia Foley, Violet and Lily Foley, Maura, Molly, and Meg Gottman, Tristen and Chauncey Gottman, Barrington and Hudson Bock, Jazlin, Jacen, Jaxon, Jaylon, and Jalix Gottman, and numerous nieces and nephews 

Louise was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband and Sister Doris Hendricks. 

Louise spent many years contributing her talents to various roles in factories and nurturing young minds at the Daycare for First Assembly of God. 

Her passion for cross-stitching was evident in the beautiful blankets she crafted for all her grandchildren, each stitch a testament to her love and dedication. Louise’s love for reading was anchored in her faith, with her Bible being her most treasured book. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was watching the Hallmark Channel, enjoying the fellowship of her church ladies, or embarking on short road trips that filled her with delight. She adored decorating her tree with lights and took great pleasure in searching for unique collectable jars. 

An amazing cook, Louise believed in the power of a shared meal, always ensuring that no one left her table hungry. Her love for camping reflected her appreciation for nature and the great outdoors. Louise’s legacy of kindness, faith, and love for her family and friends will forever be cherished and remembered. 

Pallbearers were Cody Foley, Joe Foley, Jacob Begley, Kial Begley, Josh Foley, and Caleb Begley
