PALMYRA, Mo. – The Flower Children team of the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life is hosting its 23rd Annual Spring Fling on Saturday, April 19, at American Legion Hall – Post #174 in Palmyra. The fun-filled evening will include a social hour at 5:00 p.m., dinner at 6:00 p.m., and a live auction at 7:15 p.m.
The meal, catered by HATS Restaurant, will offer an entrée choice of KC strip steak or chicken cordon bleu. Attendees will enjoy an evening of camaraderie, fundraising, and heartfelt support as the Flower Children continue their mission to fight cancer. To date, this dedicated team has raised nearly $1.5 million in the fight against cancer, and this year’s event aims to push that total even higher.
Spring Fling offers an opportunity for everyone to participate in the Relay For Life mission, taking time to celebrate cancer survivors and those currently battling the disease, remember those who have lost their fight, and take action against a disease that knows no boundaries.
The event will feature both live and silent auctions, showcasing over 200 donated items from local and regional businesses and individuals. Auction items will include tickets to St. Louis Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs, and Kansas City Royals games, as well as NASCAR Xfinity and Cup Series Playoff races in Kansas City. Other auction items include hand-crafted items and furniture, overnight hotel stays, restaurant and spa gift certificates, auto care products, show tickets, and many more unique items.
To make bidding easier, the Flower Children will once again accept major credit cards for purchases at this year’s Spring Fling.
Tickets for the event are $30 each and can be purchased from Heather McChristian at HATS Restaurant, Clint Stewart at HOMEBANK of Palmyra, Nancy Goellner at Exchange Bank of Palmyra, and Jessica Glascock at Mercantile Bank of Palmyra. Tickets are also available from team members and volunteers, including Susan Berti, Mark and Stephanie Bross, Lisa Bross-Hunziker, Beau and Allison Crist, David and Cheryl Damron, Ken and McKenzie Disselhorst, Sally Dorris, Bryon and Cathy Dorsey, Annie Emme, Gerre and Donna Feigenspan, Greg and Kathy Keim, Greg and Jennifer Leftwich, Eric and Marsha Lundberg, Melissa Marine, Robert and Stacey Meyers, Jeff and Beth Myers, Chris and Sarah Parsons, Kelly Porter, Troy and Susan Ragar, Mitch and Andrea Ridout, Phyllis Schaffer, Greg and Cheryl Schutte, Kevin and Sheila Scholl, Matt and Kristi Smith, and Mike and Kim Trower.
