Third Annual Marion County Walk for Life to Honor Mary Oberman, Support Options for Women
PALMYRA, Mo. — Options for Women will host its third annual Marion County Walk for Life and Pancake & Sausage Breakfast on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Flower City Park in Palmyra, Missouri. The event will raise funds for the Options for Women Pregnancy Resource Center, which provides free, confidential services to pregnant women and young families across northeast Missouri.
This year’s walk is dedicated to the memory of Mary Oberman, a founding member of Options for Women who passed away in October 2024. Oberman was deeply involved in organizing the Walk for Life and Banquet for Life events, as well as serving as a nurse, coach, and board secretary. To honor her contributions, this year’s event will be called the Mary Oberman Memorial Walk for Life, celebrating her commitment to the organization and the community.
Registration and a warm-up session will begin at 8:30 a.m., with the walk starting at 9 a.m. Participants can register in advance and make donations online (insert link). Those who raise $200 or more will receive a free commemorative T-shirt, which will also be available for purchase at the event for $20 each.
Before the walk, the Hannibal Knights of Columbus will provide a Pancake & Sausage Breakfast at the Sesqui Building from 8 to 11 a.m. The breakfast is open to everyone, regardless of walk participation, and will be available for a freewill donation.
All proceeds from the walk and breakfast will support the Options for Women Pregnancy Resource Center, which operates locations in Bowling Green and Hannibal. The Hannibal center, located at 7A Northport Plaza, opened in 2022 and offers medical-grade pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, parenting and life skills classes, adoption referrals, abortion pill reversal information, mentoring for young fathers, temporary housing referrals for expectant mothers in need, and support for those grieving pregnancy loss. All services are free and confidential.
The event is made possible by sponsors including Iva’s Printing, Cindy O’Laughlin, Priority Physical Rehabilitation, WGCA – 88.5 The Mix, Edward Jones, LS Tax Service, and the Knights of Columbus. Donations will be accepted on-site during the walk and online through the event registration link.
