MUDDY RIVER OPERA COMPANY PRESENTS SUMMER SKY CONCERT Free Outdoor Performance Set for June 26th at the Lorenzo Bull House
QUINCY, IL — Muddy River Opera Company will present its Summer Sky Concert on Thursday, June 26th, 2026, at the Lorenzo Bull House in Quincy. The performance begins at 7:00 p.m., though guests are encouraged to arrive no earlier than 6:00 p.m. to enjoy the grounds, silent auction, and evening atmosphere. Admission is free and open to the public, though patrons are encouraged to RSVP at muddyriveropera.org.
The evening’s program spans more than three centuries of music, featuring works by Mozart, Puccini, Bizet, Wagner, and Cole Porter alongside contemporary musical theatre repertoire. Performing are sopranos Penelope Shumate, Elizabeth Parchim, and Megan Masterman, mezzo-soprano Lisa Blake, and baritone Steven Soebbing — offering a breadth of repertoire accessible to longtime opera enthusiasts and first-time attendees alike.
Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy the performance in the outdoor setting of the Lorenzo Bull House grounds. Concessions will be available on site, and a silent auction will be held in conjunction with the evening’s events.
“The Summer Sky Concert reflects exactly what Muddy River Opera was built to do,” said Alex Craig, Board President. “This is world-class vocal artistry in a setting that belongs to the whole community.”
The Summer Sky Concert is part of MRO’s 2026 Premiere Program, a series of seasonal free public performances presented throughout the year in service of the company’s mission to make opera accessible to audiences of all ages and backgrounds across the tri-state region.
