G. Kay Jackson, 81, of Ewing, MO, passed away at 12:00 PM, Thursday, June 18, 2026, at her home.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra, MO. Mrs. Stephanie Himmel will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Palmyra, MO.
Friends and Family are invited to Kay’s Life Celebration at a visitation that will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra, MO.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra, MO.
Kay was born February 1, 1945, in Burlington, IA, to John Priepot and Ramah Shaul Priepot. She was married to James “Jim” Jackson, February 26, 1977, in Palmyra, MO. He survives.
Other survivors include her children, Joe (Jessica) Harig of Temple, TX, JaKay (Bryan) Hammock of Hannibal, MO, Justin Jackson of Ewing, MO, her grandchildren, Austin Harig, Brianna (Alex) Kerley, Skyler (Annemarie) Harig, Abby Hammock, Alyssa Hammock, Victoria (Kory) Haun, Erin Jackson, her brothers, Johnny (Sheila) Priepot of Canton, IL, Darrell (Lynn) Priepot of Quincy, IL, Terry (Jana) Priepot of Mendon, IL and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Jason Russell Jackson, her sister, Lois
Kern and her aunt, Sharon Eberly.
Professionally, Kay worked at Knapheide, she was a CNA, and massage therapist.
Kay leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and service to others. She would do anything for anyone and was always willing to lend a helping hand wherever needed.
Kay enjoyed watching Disney movies, eating popcorn, ice cream, and chocolate-covered cherries, and researching her Seward family history. She was a devoted supporter of charitable causes and found great joy in gardening, especially growing flowers, vegetables and caring for her fruit trees.
Over the years she truly enjoyed fishing, attending Bluegrass festivals, and spending time outdoors with her husband. Most of all she cherished spending time with her family.
An avid animal lover, Kay dearly loved her dogs and cats, raised cows and chickens over the years, and enjoyed feeding and watching birds.
She will be remembered for her caring heart, loving spirit, and the many lives she touched
through her kindness and generosity. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Travis Keller, Austin Harig, Dale Kern, Jr., Stan Buxman, Dan Prisner and Bryan Hammock.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Paul Rosenkrans and Robert “Bob” Gard.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
