Sierra Lynn Mehling

Like a shooting star, Sierra had so much bright and shining light within her soul. She was such a creative and driven girl. When she found something she enjoyed, she immersed herself in learning everything she could about that subject.

During her time with the local 4-H club, she found joy in studying plants. She loved to travel, enjoying the sights and sounds along the way. She found beauty in the simple things, plants, animals and even the weather. That love of nature drew up a passion from within to pursue and learn all she could.

Sierra was never shy about learning new things, meeting new people or exploring new places. An avid reader, she could immerse herself in the world of fiction and was especially fond of the book series The Warrior Cats by Erin Hunter.

Sierra shared a close bond with her younger sister, Katy, often joking about “kissing” fish while out fishing or just spending time making loom band bracelets to share.

The love of her family and time spent exploring nature, meant the world to her.

Sierra was a Christian by faith. She and her family had several close “church families” in the area.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 21, at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel. Pastor Andrew Barlow will officiate. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Palmyra, Mo.

Pallbearers will be Galen Mehling, Matt Coons, Charles Coons, Dale Begley, Ethan Begley, Cooper Begley and J.B. Mette.

All friends and family are invited to Sierra’s life celebration at a visitation that will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday, Dec. 21, at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel.
