Other survivors include her daughter, Shawna Gottman (Rob), Taylor, Mo.; grandchildren, Reagan Roberson (Tyler), Tyler Gottman and Jase Gottman; and sisters, Shirley Kolthoff and Wanda Story (Eddie).
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Roy Dale Harris and Darrel “PeeWee” Harris.
Linda grew up and lived in Palmyra her whole life. Her personality was sweet and simple just like how she preferred things in life. Linda was practical in many ways; she didn’t see the point in wasting anyone’s time with nonsense.
She was a dedicated hard worker, putting in over 20 years working for Swiss Colony in Hannibal, Mo. It was a job she enjoyed, helping people and building those small relationships with her customers over the phone.
Over the years her hobbies and priorities changed, but for many years she loved knitting, especially anything for her grandchildren, as they were her pride and joy and she would do anything for them.
She got excited every year when Halloween came around as she loved dressing up for the holiday. Now and then she liked to hit up a bingo game or go line dancing in Hannibal with her friends.
Although chocolate chip was her favorite cookie, she often made up a batch of apple oatmeal for her husband, or a special birthday batch of pumpkin bread, so good that, it was often hoarded away so others couldn’t have it!
Linda literally loved to smell the roses and often had many varieties growing in her yard. If she wasn’t washing her car, she was out in the flower garden keeping it just right. In the spring, she looked forward to greenhouse flower shopping with Rob to plan out the flowers for the year’s gardens.
Linda was a loyal and loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be remembered always by those who she knew and loved.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday July 12, at Greenwood Cemetery in Palmyra. Pastor Dale Begley will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Rob Gottman, Tyler Gottman, Buddy Harris, John Kolthoff, Jim Martin and Todd Parker.
Honorary pallbearer will be grandson, Jase Gottman.
Memorials may be made in care of Shawna Gottman for Linda’s grandkids’ education fund.
