Anna Marie Goetz 

Anna Marie Goetz, 91, of Palmyra, Mo., passed away at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal, Mo. 

Friends and family are invited to Anna’s Life Celebration at a visitation that will be held from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM Monday, September 9, 2024, at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra. 

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, September 9, 2024, at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra. Pastor(s) Paul Reese and Josh Reed will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Palmyra. 

Arrangements are under the direction of the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra. 

Anna was born February 22, 1933, in Bondurant, Iowa, to Gabriel R. Anderson and Gladys V. Anderson. She was married to Lindel J. Goetz on September 1, 1951, in Keokuk, Iowa. He preceded her in death on June 4, 2011. 

Survivors include her Daughter, Patricia Ann Schneider of Palmyra, Brothers, Bill Anderson (Ruth Ann) of Keokuk, and Don Anderson (Betty) of Keokuk, Sisters, Elaine Dranes of Macomb, Ill., and Risa Langedal of Keokuk, Grandchildren, Kelly Marie Walker (Michael) of Hannibal, Mo., Timothy Michael Davis of Washington, Kyle Schnieder (Brandy) of Palmyra, and Dustin Lawrence (Annabelle) of Tex., Great- Grandchildren, Macy Walker, Caleb Walker, Shaylee Walker, and Jaymes Gilbert, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Anna was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Brothers, Art Anderson, John Anderson, and Dan Anderson, and Sister, Maragret Mason. 

Anna dedicated years of service to the State Central Bank in Keokuk and contributed her talents to the US Government in Washington DC, demonstrating a commitment to her country and community that was unwavering. 

Anna’s passion for the outdoors was evident to all who knew her. She found joy in feeding and caring for the squirrels and birds that frequented her garden, and her fondness for dogs, especially German Shepherds, was well-known. Her adventurous spirit led her to travel and live in diverse places, including the Philippines and London, enriching her life with global experiences. Above all, Anna loved the time spent and memories shared with her husband Lindel. 

At home, Anna was happiest working in her yard, mowing the lawn, or tending to her garden. An avid reader, she also relished the simple pleasures of making homemade bread and savoring her favorite dish, biscuits and gravy. Anna’s zest for life and nurturing spirit will be profoundly missed. 

Pallbearers will be Michael Walker, Butch Augsburg, Rick Sublette, and Kyle Schneider. 

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. 

Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Anderson, Scott Anderson, George Dranes, Andy Anderson, and Timothy Davis.
