Patricia Jackson, 75, of Palmyra, Mo., passed away at 1:45 PM, Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill.
Graveside Services will be held at 1:30 PM, Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at Greenwood Cemetery in Palmyra.
Friends and family are invited to Patricia’s Life Celebration at a visitation that will be held from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM, Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra.
Patricia was born September 10, 1949, in Quincy, to Walter Jackson and Leona Smith Jackson.
Survivors include her son, Dale Mitchell of Canton, Mo., brother, James (Kay) Jackson of Palmyra, grandson, Nicholas Mitchell of Canton, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, long-time companion, Edward Mitchell, Angela Mitchell, brothers, Russell Jackson and Derrill Jackson, and nephew, Jason Jackson.
Professionally, worked at Maple Lawn Nursing Home from 1989-2014, where she worked as a nurse’s aide for many years, before working in physical therapy.
Patricia’s love for the simple pleasures in life, like settling in to watch her favorite game shows and soap operas, brought her daily comfort and entertainment. She was a familiar face at the local casinos, where she reveled in the thrill of playing the slot machines, and her competitive spirit shone brightly on bingo nights, much to the delight of her friends and fellow players.
A culinary enthusiast, Patricia was renowned for her delicious homemade noodles and the decadent Missouri mud cake that graced many family gatherings. Her good sense of humor was a beacon of light, even though she knew when to hold a serious conversation, striking a perfect balance that endeared her to all. Patricia’s love for country music was a testament to her roots and the simple, heartfelt stories the tunes carry. Her presence will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who loved her.
Pallbearers will be James Jackson, Justin Jackson, Derrill Jackson Jr., Bryan Hammock, and Dale Mitchell.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel towards funeral expenses.
