I am typing this article for the paper it is raining in the Taylor area. We had a small shower yesterday and have had nice showers this morning. It has been a gentle rain and very much needed. Everyone stay cool and hydrated this upcoming week, the weather service is saying it is going to be a hot one with temps in the 90’s with heat index in the 100’s.
I was able to attend the Monroe City livestock show this past week. Many area 4-H and FFA students were there to show their cattle. Congratulations to all of the exhibitors and a job well done with their livestock.
Congratulations to Emily Bowman who was in the 2nd Flight of archery at the 4-H Fair Shooting Sports competition which was held on Saturday at Pop’s Club in Hannibal. Emily was the 2025 Sr. Division Compound Release Archer. Emily is the daughter of Daryn and Amy Bowman of Taylor, MO. Congratulations to all of the shooting sports exhibitors.
Emily has also started up her own business as her SAE Project for FFA. She is baking baked goods and selling them. If you are needing a yummy pie or some fresh baked bread give Emily a shout, remember this project is for her SAE for FFA.
I also enjoyed watching the 4-H horse show on Sunday afternoon at the new F&T Show arena, which is located next to the F&T Sale barn. I went in particular to watch my granddaughter show her horse; this is her first year to exhibit horses She done a great job as did all of the exhibitors.
