Bill was a proud farmer whose roots ran deep in the land he worked and loved. A 1966 graduate of Lebanon High School, he went on to earn his Bachelors degree in Dairy Husbandry, Bachelors in Agricultural Economics and a Masters in Agricultural Economics from the University of Missouri in 1972. Early in his life, he devoted himself to dairy and cattle farming before focusing on row crop and grain production—a lifelong passion marked by dedication and hard work.
He was a charter member of the Palmyra Young Farmers, where he served multiple offices. He also gave his time and leadership as Secretary of the Farmers Coop in Palmyra, on the Board of Directors for the South River Drainage District, and as a member and President of the Greenwood Cemetery Board.
Known for his ornery streak and bull-headed nature, Bill was also deeply generous, loyal, and loving. He enjoyed traveling—especially his trips to Europe and Alaska hunting Caribou. He found peace in the beauty of the mountains. In quieter moments, you could find him watching FOX News, sipping a Diet Mountain Dew, and listening to classic rock.
Bill’s life was one of grit, humor, and heart—a reflection of the land he loved and the values he lived by.
