TAYLOR, MO –
What a beautiful weekend we have had, a bit windy but temps were great.As I sit here typing this article, it is cloudy with a forecast of rain changing to snow later this evening into Monday morning. I do believe later in the week it is suppose to be beautiful with very nice temps. I was able to attend the Confirmation service on Saturday evening for my oldest granddaughter, Natalie Miller and her fellow classmates from Holy Rosary School. It was a beautiful service with approximately 15 young adults.There were 4 parishes in attendance for their conformation.
Oren Griesbaum spent the night Saturday night and Sunday with me. We had a good time and we baked brownies on Sunday after church.
Mom (Jane Church) spent a couple of days in Hannibal Regional Hospital this past week. She went through a lot of testing to find out she has a valve leakage, high blood pressure, and the beginning of diabetes which at this time is being treated with medication.She will be undergoing a chemical stress test sometime this upcoming week. Please keep her in yourprayers.
Sympathy is extended to the family of Joyce Hess. Joyce passed away on Monday, March 9 at Maple Lawn Nursing Home where she had been a resident for a while.Services were held on Friday night with a visitation and Saturday morning at the St Joseph CatholicChurch. Condolences to the entire family.
Sympathy is extended to the family of Rita Reed, who passed away on Friday, March 13 at her home in Palmyra. Services will be held at a later date. Amanda and Oren Griesbaum traveled to watch the Quincy Notre Dame Boys Basketball team play for championship on Saturday morning.The boys fell short and brought home 2nd place. This is first time ever they earned their place to play in the championship game. The boys defeated Chicago Farragut 64-43 to advance to the championship game against Peoria Manual.
Carolyn Carpenter and daughter Ruthie Kiehl along with Shelly Lewis traveled to Chicago for the weekend. They went to visit Shelly’s daughter Amanda (Jonathon) Weller.
Mt Olivet Church will be holding Sunrise Services on Sunday, April 5th starting at 6:00 AM for Easter.They will be having their annual Easter Breakfast after the service starting approximately at 6:30 AM. Anyone is welcome to attend.
