Palmyra Falls to Centralia

CENTRALIA — Palmyra struggled to get its offense going in a road loss to Centralia, falling 15-0 in three innings.
Centralia pitcher Grant Kendrick kept the Panthers off balance, retiring all nine batters
he faced and striking out three. Rylan Compton, Raeson Miller and Bryant Horstmeier went down in order in the first inning, and Palmyra was unable to put a runner on base.
Miller started on the mound for Palmyra and worked into the second inning before Max Heimer came on in relief. Centralia broke the game open with power at the plate, as Cole Higginson hit two home runs and Luke Waltemate added another.
Palmyra’s defense did record a strong play in the first inning when left fielder Ty Haskins threw out Anthony Ford at the plate, with catcher Logan Kroeger applying the tag to end the inning.
Haskins and Henley Snow also saw action in the outfield for the Panthers, while Rafe Jones, Griffin Scifres and Brodie Webb were among the Palmyra hitters who came to the plate late in the game.
