Shelbina OES Chapter Holds Meeting
Shelbina Chapter #159 OES held a stated meeting on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, with 17 members and guests present. Chapter was opened in regular form with Joyce Viloria presiding. Other officers present were Charles Rosenkrans, WP; Nancy Thorndyke, AM; Eric Davis, AP Pro Tem; Lois Turner, Secy; Linda Sorrell, Cond; Kay Robertson, A. Cond. Pro Tem; Leslie Rosenkrans. Chaplain; Mary Davis, Marshal Pro Tem; Linda Cullifer, Organist; Mary Ellen Parsons, Adah; Carla Schoenborn, Esther; Jerry Bridges, Martha; Edra Beach, Electa; Larry
Robertson, Warder Pro Tem and Jim Sorrell, Sentinel. All present repeated the Pledge of Allegiance and sang the National Anthem.
Distinguished members introduced informally were Ruth Ann Dixson, DDGM of the 6th Dist.,
Carla Schoenborn, Grand Representative of Wisconsin and Jerry Bridges, Grand Representative of California. Also introduced informally were Kay Robertson, PM and Larry Robertson, PP, both of LaBelle #316. Minutes of the meeting of April 22 were read and approved. As this was the
Official Visit of the DDGM, Ruth Ann Dixson, all phases of ritualistic work were exemplified, Larry Robertson pro temed as WP for Initiation.
The Secretary reported 81 members had paid their dues and she has tried to contact those who have not. Communications were read about the 5-state gathering to be held July 24-26 in Leavenworth, Ks. An invitation was read from Cairo #180 for Friendship Night on June 4 with a meal at 6:00 and the meeting at 7:00. An invitation was read for the MSMSGRC meeting on August 22 in Jefferson City. Also the same day will be the reveal of the 2027 Grand Officers and
DDGM’s. A note was read from Job’s Daughters and a thank you note was read from the
family of Willene Asbury.
Jerry Bridges thanked the chapter for the gifts she received at the Official Reception and how she was going to use them. Friendship Night will be June 24 and all officers are to wear red, white and blue to celebrate America’s 250th birthday. We will have a carry in at 6:30.
A birthday was observed by Carla Schoenborn with all singing Happy Birthday. Coin drill for the evening goes to Youth Groups.
Charles Rosenkrans will be 90 years young on May 30. There will be a party in his honor on May 30 at the 4-H building at the fairgrounds in Paris, from 12-4.
Chapter closed in regular form. Prior to the meeting a carry-in was held with sandwiches, salads and desserts. No one volunteered for refreshments on May 27.
