Season opener Friday at Christian High School
The Panthers are scheduled to open the 2020 season with a brand new opponent, as they travel to Christian High School in O’Fallon for a 7 p.m. kick-off Friday.
The Class 2 Eagles enter their 11th season of football following a 7-5 campaign that ended with a 40-27 loss to Hallsville in the District 5 title game.
And, Panther Coach Kevin Miles sees the Eagles as a big first-game challenge.
“We are really excited to play them. They are a very explosive team that should present a lot of challenges to us on both sides of the ball,” Miles said. “They have a quarterback and skill athletes who are highly recruited. We are looking forward to this challenge.”
Specific guidelines for fans were not made available in time for this edition, but Brian Wosman PHS athletic director, said he was told by a CHS school official that there will be a limit to the number of fans allowed into the game.
