Palmyra to host Mayor’s Cup game Friday

The Panthers will stay home this Friday to host the annual Mayor’s Cup game against Monroe City.

Palmyra’s perennial rival comes into the contest with a 3-1 record after suffering their first loss at home Friday to Centralia, 18-0.

Monroe City opened the season with a 34-32, double-overtime win over South Callaway before earning big victories over Winfield, 46-6, and South Shelby, 62-14.

Monroe City has maintained possession of the Mayor’s Cup since 2015.
