PHS CC teams compete at Centralia

The PHS cross country teams   competed at a meet in Centralia last Tuesday.

The girls finished third out of five teams while the boys team came in sixth out of six.

“We ran well at the meet,” said Coach Nicholas Koetters, noting the girls lost to two of the two Class 3 teams in the state.

“So, that was good to see,” Koetter said.

The girls scored 76 points to finish behind Father Tolton Regional Catholilc (38) and Centralia (49), but ahead of Bowling Green (92) and Monroe City (99)

Laurin Sheputis, eighth place, Aly Noland, 13th, and Lauren Reid, 18th, with a personal best time,we’re in the top 20. 

Casey Hathaway led the boys team in a personal record time of 19:22 to place 15th. 

In the JV race, Lydia Gard was Palmyra’s lone medalist, finishing in fifth place, as the girls took second.
