PHS boys get top seed at Highland
The PHS varsity boys received the top seed, while the girls got the fifth seed in the upcoming Highland Basketball Tournament Jan. 4-9.
The Panthers will open play at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, against eighth-seeded Scotland County, while the Lady Panthers will play at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 4, against fourth-seeded Canton.
The winner of the boys game will advance to the semifinals and play at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, against the winner of Tuesday’s quarterfinal between fourth-seeded Highland and fifth-seeded Knox County.
The other boys quarterfinal games Tuesday include second-seeded Kirksville against seventh-seeded Clark County, and third-seeded Macon against sixth-seeded Canton.
The boys championship game is set for 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, while the third-place game will be Friday with the time to be announced.
If the Lady Panthers win Monday, they will advance to the semifinals and play at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6, against the winner of the quarterfinal game between top-seeded Macon and eighth-seeded Knox County.
The other two girls quarterfinal games Monday, feature second-seeded Scotland County against seventh-seeded Highland and third-seeded Clark County and sixth-seeded Kirksville.
The girls championship game is set for 6 p.m. Saturday, while the third-place game will be played Friday at a time to be announced.
