PHS wrestlers back in action

PHS wrestlers got their first action of 2021 during meets at Marceline and Centralia last week.

The Panthers split at Marceline, last Tuesday, downing the host team, 45-24, while losing to Mid-Buchanan, 58-21.

Palmyra won three of four actual matches against Marceline.

Winning were:

Brayden Stevens (132) by fall at 0:46 over Brayden Brown;

Collin Arch (138) by technical fall, 16-0, at 5:23 over Ryder Gooch; and

Luke Triplett (220) by major decision, 16-4, over Nathan Cupp.

Palmyra went 4-6 in actual matches against Mid-Buchanan.

Winning were Kaden Crane (106) by 10-9 decision over Ryder Coons;

Stevens (132) by fall at 2:41, over Clayton Rotterman;

Arch (138) by fall at 0:42 over Derek Sprague; and

Triplett (220) by fall at 1:04 over Owen Stockbauer.

The Panthers were back in action Thursday at Centralia, where they beat Macon but lost to the host team, 42-33, and to Brookfield, 46-36,

Palmyra won all six actual matches against Macon.

Winning were:

Crane (106) by fall at 0:39 over Tanner Still;

Gideon Bogue (145) by fall at 1:39 over Gabe Thrasher;

Hayes Miller (160) by 12-5 decision over Bodie Legan;

Jayden Sharrow (182) by fall at 1:56 over Dalton Cashatt;

Nolyn Richards (195) by fall at 0:59 over Ethan Prewitt; and

Triplett (220) by fall at 1:34 over Matt Osman.

Palmyra split the eight actual matches with Centralia.

Winning were Crane (106) by fall at 1:15 over Weston Ward;

Stevens (132) by fall at 0:56 over Wyatt Bryson;

Arch (138) by a 6-0 decision over Kyden Wilkerson; and

Triplett (220) by fall at 2:13 over Xaden Lockett.

Palmyra also split the eight actual matches against Brookfield.

Winning were:

Crane (106) by fall at 0:40 over Klayton Doss;

Audrin McElvain (113) by fall at 1:50 over Kai Wiedeman; 

Miller (160) by fall at 1:15 over Gunnar Drescher; and

Richards (195) by fall at 2:59 over Braxsten Duncan.  

In girls action at Marceline, Dyoni Mundy (122) won both of her matches, by fall at 4:53 over Marceline’s Payton Weese, and by fall at 0:02 over Mid-Buchanan’s Addison McGarry.

The Panthers were scheduled to host their first action of the season Monday against Hannibal. Results were not available for this edition.
