The Marion County R-II boys basketball team lost to Wellsville-Middleton and LaPlata last week.
The Mustangs ended the week with a 42-33 loss at LaPlata Thursday.
LaPlata got out to a 14-6 lead and managed to hold off the Mustangs the rest of the way.
Root Cheney sank all three of the team’s three-pointers and led the team with 18 points.
Also scoring were Jackson Stewart, eight, Landen Holt, three, Wyatt Goldinger, two, and Spencer Whetstone, two.
The Mustangs opened the week with an 81-39 loss at home to Wellsville-Middleton Monday.
Marion County fell behind 23-6 in the first quarter and never recovered.
Scoring for the Mustangs were Cooper Stotts, 10, Cheney, 10, Goldinger, seven, Stewart, six, and Whetstone, six.
Thirty of Marion County’s points came on their 10 three-point field goals.
This week, the Mustangs are competing in the North Shelby Tournament.
