PHS boys finish in second at Monroe City
The PHS boys track and field team took second place in a 10-team field at the Monroe City Invitational Thursday.
The Panthers won five events and scored 133 points to finish 39.5 points behind first-place Monroe City.
Winning events were Abe Haerr in both the 800 meters and high jump, Hayes Miller in the 200 meters, Weston King in the discus and the 4 x 800 relay team.
Placing in the top five were:
Haerr, first in the 800 meters at 2:07.05 and first place in the high jump at 1.83 meters;
Miller, first in the 200 meters at 23.83 and second in the 100 meters at 11.86; and third in the long jump at 5.86 meters;
King, first in the discus at 45.13 meters and second in the shot put at 13.23 meters;
the first place 4 x 800 relay team of Caleb Juette, Connor Bross, Carson Hicks and Haerr at 9:20.63;
Bross, third in the 3,200 meters at 12.06.01;
Hicks, third place in the high jump at 1.72 meters;
the third-place 4 x 400 relay team of Gideon Bogue, Christian Johnson, Hicks and Haerr at 3:54.10;
Juette, fourth in the 1,600 meters at 5:22.21 and fourth in the 110 meter hurdles at 20.21;
Josh Lickfeld, fourth place in the discus at 34:07 meters;
the fourth place 4 x 100 relay team of Bogue, Johnson, Lickfeld and Miller at 49.40;
Johnson, fifth in the triple jump at 11.39 meters;
Bogue, fifth in the 400 meters at 58.55; and
the fifth place 4 x 200 relay team of Jackson Janes, Daniel Reid, Talon Markley and Dakota Snyder at 1:56.26.
