PHS girls victorious at Monroe City meet
The PHS girls track and field team won the Monroe City Invitational Thursday, beating out 10 other schools.
The Lady Panthers won four events and scored 158 points to lead second place Monroe City by 32.5 points.
Placing first were Taytum White in the 200 meters, Jeorgia O’Brien in the 1,600 meters and the 4 x 100 and 200 relays.
Placing in the top five were:
White, first in the 200 meters at 28.55 and fourth in the long jump at 4.39 meters;
O’Brien, first in the 1,600 meters at 6:10.47;
the 4 x 100 meter relay team of Sophie Hoerr, Mallory Sublette, Bella McBride and Abbey Redd at 55:09;
the 4 x 200 meter relay team of Alaina Loman, Jaynee Durst, White and Grace Krigbaum at 1:57.80;
Redd, second in the pole vault at 2.90 meters;
the second place 4 x 400 meter relay team of Loman, White, Sublette and Lauren Sheputis at 4:29.09;
the second place 4 x 800 meter relay team of Lydia Szarka, Sheputis, Perkins and O’Brien;
Candra King, third in the shot put at 9.92 meters and fifth in the discus at 25.84 meters;
Emma Krigbaum, third in the 300 meter hurdles at 54.37; fourth in the 100 meter hurdles at 18.82;
Loman, third in the pole vault at 2.45 meters; fifth in the 400 meters at 1:07.34;
Drew Billups, fourth in the shot put at 9.40 meters and fourth in the discus at 26.74 meters;
Sublette, fourth in the triple jump at 9.82 meters;
Jaynee Durst, fourth in the javelin at 26.72 meters;
Hoerr, fourth in the 100 meters at 14.38;
Grace Krigbaum, fifth in the javelin at 25.46 meters;and
Chloe Hicks, fifth in the triple jump at 8.89 meters;
