Straus qualifies for state track in four events

Marion County R-II’s Delaney Straus qualified for state in four events, winning three of them during the Class 1 Sectional meet in Monroe City Saturday.
And, she will be joined at the state meet by Halle Keilholz and Tristen Holt who also qualified.
Straus won the 800 meters (2:22.67), 1,600 meters (5:55.31) and 3,200 meters (12:50.51) while trailing only Princeton’s Lauren Krohn (59.67) in the 400 meters by less than two seconds (1:00.88).
This will be Straus’ last state meet which will be held Saturday at Jefferson City High School’s Atkins Field.
Holt qualified for state by placing fourth in the high jump at four feet, nine inches, while Keilholz heads to state after placing fourth in the javelin at 88 feet, three inches.
