The Palmyra High School boys team took fourth place at the Palmyra Invitational Cross Country meet in Flower City Park Saturday morning.
The Panthers scored 100 points to finish behind Hannibal, 49, Mark Twain, 62, and Kirksville, 98, and ahead of Marion County, 116, Monroe City, 119, Clark County, 140, Winfield, 211, and Atlanta, 232.

Palmyra’s Flower City Park was again the site of the Palmyra Invitational Cross Country meet Saturday participated in by more than a dozen schools on the high school and junior high level. Palmyra’s Connor Bross and Dakota Snyder keep pace.
In girls competition, Clark County took first with 56 points, followed by Kirksville, 57, Monroe City, 57, Mark Twain, 78, and Highland, 87.
Palmyra and Marion County did not finish with team scores.

Marion County’s Delaney Straus took sixth overall.
Dakota Snyder lead the Palmyra boys with a 15th place finish at 20:38.0. He was followed by Connor Bross,
17th, 20:42.8, Jacob Barnes, 25th, 21:45.0, Caleb Juette, 29th, 22:03.9, Daniel Reid, 35th, 22:37.6, Ji Ni, 46th, 23:43.2, Talon Markley, 58th, 24:40.7, Brayden Stevens, 26:08.7, Owen Mason Kiefaber, 83rd, 33.24.3 and Jackson Janes, 84th, 33:40.0.
Marion County’s Levi Wright finished eighth overall at 19:40.8, and was followed on the team by Joey Lagemann, 37th, 22:45.8, Mason Wood, 41st, 22:58.2, Shawn Martin, 61st, 25:24.0 and Nick Kelso, 74th, 28:38.7.
Hannibal’s Cameron Nichols was the overall winner with a time of 18:23.6.
In girls competition, Marion County’s Delaney Straus finished sixth overall in a time of 23:07.2. Also competing for Marion County were Tristen Holt, 41st, 28:11.8, Olivia Wood, 45th, 29:22.1 and Riley Donath, 48th, 30:11.8.
Alyssa Noland led Palmyra with a 24th place finish at 26:05.1. Also competing were Lydia Gard, 51st, 32:29.9 and Izzy Rice, 53rd, 33:35.0.
The top girls runner was Zoe Riggs, of Wright City, in a time of 21:01.7.
Palmyra opened the season by competing at the Mexico Invitational meet Sept. 3, but they did not qualify as teams.
Alyssa Noland, Palmyra’s lone female runner, finished 27th out of 72 in a time of 25:33.13.
Two boys ran for Palmyra including Caleb Juette, who finished 30th out of 90 in a time of 20:25.53, and Connor Bross, 37th, in a time of 20:38.85.
This week, the teams were to compete Tuesday in Quincy, Ill. at a meet hosted by Quincy Notre Dame.
