PHS girls tennis team dominates Kirksville, Fulton

The PHS varsity tennis team won its two road matches against Kirksville and Fulton last week.
The Lady Panthers (3-2) capped the week with an 8-1 win at Fulton, Thursday.
Winning singles matches were: Maura Gottman, 8-0, over Tori Hays; Molly Gottman, 8-1, over Maelynn
Kramer; Jaynee Durst, 8-1, over Teresa Hinchie; Abbey Mann, 8-6, over Marwa Sherzad; and Jeorgia O’Brien, 9-7, over Kier Henderson.
Winning doubles matches were: Katy Rindom and Maura Gottman, 8-0, over Davison and Hays; Molly Gottman and Durst, 8-1, over Kramer and Hinchie; and Mann and O’Brien, 8-3, over Sherzad and Henderson.
The junior varsity team also beat Fulton, 6-0, to go 5-0 on the season.
Winning doubles matches were: Emmelee Drebes and Marina Meyer, 6-0; Rilee Shrum and Kenzie Bollin, 6-3.
Winning singles matches were: Drebes, 6-2; Meyer, 6-2; Ava Browning, 6-2; and Taytum White, 6-0.
The varsity squad opened the week with a 9-0 win at Kirksville Tuesday.
Winning singles matches were: Rindom, 8-6, over Gracie Reimenschneider; Maura Gottman, 8-5, over Maren Elmore; Molly Gottman, 8-2, over Madisynn Crawford; Durst, 8-1, over Brynn Williams; Mann, 8-3, over Anna Eitel; and O’Brien, 8-2, over Syr Stremel Slaughter.
Winning doubles matches were: Rindom and Maura Gottman, 8-5, over Riemenschneider and Elmore; Molly Gottman and Mann, 8-5, over Crawford and Eitel; and Durst and O’Brien, 8-2, over Williams and Slaughter.
The JV squad also won, 3-1, over Kirksville.
Winning doubles matches were: Browning and White, 6-1; Shrum and Bollin, 6-2; and Laura Noland and White, 6-2.
