The PHS Cross country teams competed in Fulton and Quincy, Ill. this past week.

The boys team finished 15th out of a highly competitive field of 17 teams Saturday at the Fulton Invitational Meet.

Bowling Green took first place in the event which also included teams from St. Charles, Centeralia, Helias Catholic, Elsberry, Hannibal, Mexico, Jefferson City, Kirksville, Battle, Moberly and others.

Caleb Juette lead Palmyra with a 36th place finish out of 126 runners in a time of  20:14.48.

Also competing were Dakota Snyder, 46th, 20:37.47; Jaccob Barnes, 71st, 21:39.46; Daniel Reid, 108th, 23:53.01; Ji Yong Ni, 114th, 24:49.45; and Brayden Stevens, 118th, 26:42.31.

Four Palmyra girls competed including Alyssa Noland, 72nd, 29:37.58; Lydia Gard, 84th, 32:15.59; Tiffany Neff, 85th, 32:32.08; and Izzy Rice, 86th, 32:38.55. 

The boys team took seventh place out of 13 teams at the Running Raider Invitational meet hosted by Quincy Notre Dame in Quincy, Ill. last Tuesday.

The Panthers scored 214 points to finish behind Quincy High School (44), Hamilton (47), Bowling Green (82), Pleasant Hill (162), QND (168),  and Hannibal (172), and ahead of Moberly (227), Liberty (235), Monroe City (236), Clark County (240), Marion County (245) and Springfield Southeast (346).

Juette led the Panthers with a 27th place finish at 18:37.5. He was followed by Snyder, 40th, 19:17.2; Connor Bross, 41st, 19:19.6; Barnes, 50th, 20:00.2; and Talon Markley, 74th, 22:27.3.

Quincy High School’s Fiker Rosen, a senior, won it with a time of 15:19.1.

The Palmyra girls did not compete in the event also won by QHS.
