The Marion County R-II boys basketball team bowed out of the Monroe City Tournament with a 70-40 loss to South Shelby in the consolation semifinals Thursday.
The Mustangs (1-3) also absorbed an 80-16 loss to top-seeded Monroe City in the quarterfinals Tuesday.
Marion County managed just four field goals for the game, while the Panthers rushed out to a 54-9 first-half lead.
Scoring for Marion County were Joey Lagermann, four, Porter Britt, three, Wyatt Goldinger, three, Caden Stotts, two, Jackson Stewart, two, and Cooper Stotts, two.
The Mustangs are busy this week, hosting North Shelby, Monday, traveling to Higbee, Tuesday, and playing at home against Madison, Thursday.
They finish 2021 by hosting LaPlata, Dec. 20.
