Panthers lose, to Centralia, 63-38, in conference opener

The PHS varsity boys basketball team went on the road last week, winning at North Point, but losing its Clarence Cannon Conference opener at Centralia Thursday.
Centralia (6-7) held Palmyra (7-7) two one first-quarter field goal and three free throws in jumping out to a 13-5 lead.
After leading at halftime by 14, Centralia out-scored the Panthers 38-22 the rest of the way to win 68-38.
Scoring for Palmyra were Alex Loman, 12, Bear Bock, 11, Bronson Juette, five, Carson Hicks, four, Macon Roberts, four, and Jon Lundberg, two.
The Panthers also earned a 58-18 win at North Point in Wentzville, Thursday.
Bock sank 10 field goals, including a three-pointer to lead all scorers and the entire North Point team with 20 points.
Also scoring were Roberts, 10, Hicks, seven, Lundberg, four, Loman, four, Ryan McKeown, three, Tyler Banta, two, Jimmy Scott, two, Bronson Juette, two, and Adam Goodwin, two.
The game was moved up a day due to the threat of winter weather Friday.
This week, the Panthers compete in the Tony Lenzini Tournament.
