The PHS varsity boys basketball team finished strong for a 51-45 win at home over Bowling Green during Pink Out Night at the Gym Thursday.

The Panthers (13-10, 3-3 CCC) built a six-point lead by halftime, but the Bobcats fought back to take a one-point lead going into the third period, when Palmyra finished with a game-winning 10-3 run.
Bear Bock led the Panthers with 17 points, to go along with 13 rebounds, four assists and three steals, while Alex Loman scored 11.
Also contributing were Laydin Lochman, eight, Ryan McKeown, six, Adam Goodwin, four, and Carson Hicks, four.

The Panthers were doubled up, 62-31, at Monroe City last Tuesday.
Monroe City (14-4, 4-0 CCC) held Palmyra to 10 first-half points and then went on a 28-11 third-period run to ensure the victory.
Scoring for Palmyra were Bock, eight, Lochman, seven, Bronson Juette, four, Ethan Redd, three, Jimmy Scott, three, Mason Roberts, two, Loman, two, and Goodwin, two.
Monroe City was led by Joshua Talton and Jaedyn Robertson, both with 19.
Palmyra finishes the regular season this week with games at Hannibal, Tuesday, and at home against Highland, Friday.
The second-seeded Panthers earned a first-round bye in the Class 3, District 6 tournament play in Monroe City Feb. 21-26, and will play in the semifinals at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, against the winner of Tuesday’s quarterfinal between third-seeded Highland and sixth-seeded Clark County.
The winner will advance to the championship game scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26.
