The PHS varsity boys basketball team fell to Highland, 61-50 in the regular season finale at home Saturday.

Palmyra’s Carson Hicks finds himself closely guarded by a Hannibal defender Tuesday.
The Cougars earned a measure of revenge against the Panthers (14-11) after losing the first two contests.
Saturday’s game was originally scheduled for Friday, but was postponed due to the snow.
The Panthers finished conference play with a 3-4 record with Monroe City earning another undefeated championship.
Palmyra earned a slim early advantage and went into half time up 26-23. However the game went into the final period tied at 36, and the Cougars then went on a 25-14 game-winning run.
Three Panther starters scored in double figures including Bear Bock, 17, Alex Loman, 13, and Brayden Shannon, 10, while Mason Roberts pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds to go with six points.
Carson Hicks and Adam Goodwin added two each.
The Panthers had to regroup going into the fourth quarter in earning a 51-45 win at Hannibal last Tuesday.
Palmyra led by three at halftime and but the Pirates used a 21-14 third-quarter run to take a three-point edge into the final period.
But, not to worry. The Panthers held Hannibal to five points while scoring 14 the rest of the way.
Bock scored 18 points, including six in the fourth quarter to lead Palmyra, while Loman sank three three-pointers in contributing 12 points.
Also scoring were Tyler Banta, nine, Brayden Shannon, four, Roberts, four, Ryan McKeown, two, and Bronson Juette, two.
Bock also had 11 rebounds, eight blocked shots and four assists in the game.
The second-seeded Panthers will open Class 3, District 6 action in Monroe City at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, with a semifinal contest against the winner of Tuesday’s quarterfinal between third-seeded Highland and sixth-seeded Clark County.
