The PHS girls track and field team took second place at a tri-meet hosted by Quincy High School at Flinn Stadium last Tuesday.
Palmyra scored 216.5 points to finish behind QHS, 258.5, but ahead of Liberty (Ill.), 58.
Placing in the top five for Palmyra were:
Candra King, first place in the shot put at 10.51 meters and first place in the discus at 28.13 meters;
Jansen Juette, first place in the long jump at 4.9 meters; second place in the 100 meters at 12.97;
Abbey Redd, first place in the pole vault at 3.23 meters;
Sydney Compton, first place in the 400 meters at 1:07.02;
the first-place 4 x 800 meter relay team of Jeorgia O’Brien, Ali Noland, Alaina Loman and Laurin Sheputis at 11:26.02;
Mallory Sublette, first place in the triple jump at 10.16 meters;
the first place 4 x 200 meter relay team of Juette, Redd, Sublette and Taytum White at 1:58.02;
The first-place 4 x 100 meter relay team of Redd, White, Bella McBride and Juette at 54:55;
the first place 4 x 400 meter relay team of Sheputis, Sublette, Compton and White at 4:35.38;
Loman, second place in the pole vault at 2.62 meters and fourth place in the 400 meters at 1:10.68;
Emma Krigbaum, second place in the 300 meter hurdles at 57.93 and fourth place in the 100 meter hurdles at 19:21;
White, second place in the long jump at 4.86 meters;
Tenlee Voss, third place in the long jump at 4.58 meters;
Jaynee Durst, third place in the shot put at 8.67 meters;
Sheputis, fourth place in the 800 meters at 2:42.37;
Chloe Hicks, fourth place in the high jump at 1.4 meters;
Haley Kroeger, fourth place in the shot put at 8.13 meters; and
O’Brien, fifth place in the 1,600 meters at 6:12.62
