The PHS boys track and field team took second place at a tri-meet hosted by Quincy High School at Flinn Stadium last Tuesday.
The Panthers scored 152 points to finish behind QHS, 358, and ahead of Liberty, 47.
Placing in the top five for Palmyra were:
Hayes Miller, first place in the 400 meters at 52.93 and second place in the 100 meters at 11:28;
Christian Johnson, first place in the triple jump at 11.65 meters;
Evan Pennewell, first place in the pole vault at 3.23 meters;
the first place 4 x 200 meter relay team of Parker Bier, Pennewell, Lathyn Sutter and Landen Gottman at 1:46.62;
the first place 4 x 400 meter relay team of Miller, Marty Smyser, Daniel Dames and Johnson at 3:50.21;
Ryan McKeown, second place in the 300 meter hurdles at 47.81; second place in the triple jump at 11.28 meters; and third place in the long jump at 5.62 meters;
Caleb Juette, second place in the 3,200 meters at 15:43.17; fifth place in the 800 meters at 2:17.68;
Gottman, second place in the high jump at 1.52 meters;
the second place 4 x 100 meter relay team of Johnson, McKeown, Dames and Smyser at 49.88;
Gideon Bogue, third place in the 200 meters at 24.27;
Jayden Sharrow, third place in the pole vault at 2.44 meters;
Brayden Roeder, fourth place in the 110 meter hurdles at 20.78; fifth place in the 300 meter hurdles at 52.48;
Gage Barnett, fourth place in the shot put at 11.49 meters; and
Dames, fifth place in the 400 meters at 57.14.
