The PHS boys track and field team competed in Jefferson City and Ewing this past week.
The Panthers took fourth place at the 14-team Jerry Ball Relays at Highland High School last Tuesday.
The Panthers scored 70 points to finish behind Hannibal, 176, Highland, 114, andSouth Shelby, 74, but ahead of Mark Twain, 69, Central Camp Point (Ill.), 67, Clark County, 52, Scotland County, 51, Marion County, 19, North Shelby, 18, Knox County, 14, Liberty (Ill.), eight, and Mendon-Unity (lll.), five.
Placing in the top eight for Palmyra were:
Hayes Miller, first place in the 400 meters at 52.15; third place in the 100 meters at 11.50;
Evan Pennewell, first place in the pole vault at 10 feet, six inches;
the third place 4 x 400 meter relay team of Miller, Gideon Bogue, Daniel Dames and Marty Smyser at 3:44.50;
Connor Bross, fourth place in the 3,200 meters at 11:50.40 and fifth place in the 1,600 meters at 5:15.14;
Jayden Sharrow, fourth place in the pole vault at 9 feet 0.25 inches and eighth place in the javelin at 112 feet, 3.75 inches;
Ryan McKeown, fourth place in the 300 meter hurdles at 47.16;
Bogue, sixth place in the 200 meters at 25.69;
the sixth place 4 x 100 meter relay team of Smyser, Christian Johnson, McKeown and Noah Getz at 48.59;
the sixth place 4 x 200 meter relay team of Dames, Smyser, Snyder and Parker Bier at 1:47.15;
Snyder, seventh place in the 800 meters at 2:26.10;
Johnson, seventh place in the triple jump at 36 feet, 11 inches;
Getz, seventh place in the discus at 111 feet, 1.75 inches;
Caleb Juette, eighth place in the 1,600 meters at 12:18.55 and eighth place in the 3,200 meters at 12:18.55; and
Dames, eighth place in the 400 meters at 58.20.
Two Panthers placed in the top five at the LickLider Invitational meet in Jefferson City Friday.
Miller took second place in the 10 meters and Getz placed fourth in the shot put.
