The Marion County R-II girls and boys track and field teams competed at the Dennis Hancock Invitational meet in Monroe City last Tuesday.
The girls finished fifth out of six teams and the boys sixth out of six teams.
The Lady Mustangs collected 71 points to finish behind Monroe City, 199, Mark Twain, 141, Westran, 92, and North Shelby, 76, but ahead of Paris, 49.
Placing for Marion County were:
Delaney Straus, first place in the 1,600 meters at 5:48.10; first place in the triple jump at 10.72 metes; second place in the 400 meters at 1:05.69; and second place in the 800 meters at 2:31.48;
Halle Keilholz, first place in the javelin at 34.68 meters; third place in the 100 meter hurdles at 18.42; and seventh place in the 200 meters at 32.30;
Samantha Kindhart, fourth place in the shot put at 8.71 meters; seventh place in the discus at 21.05 meters; and ninth place in the javelin at 16.73 meters;
Shayleigh Whetstone, fourth place in the shot put at 8.70 meters and fifth place in the discus at 22.15 meters; and
Shari Wagner, ninth place in the 100 meters at 16.57 and 11th place in the 200 meters at 37.22.
The Mustangs scored 31 points to finish behind Monroe City, 222, Westran, 154, Mark Twain, 149, Paris, 62, and North Shelby 44.
Placing for Marion County were:
Levi Wright, first place in the 3,200 meters at 11:14.97 and second place in the 1,600 meters at 5:09.98;
Porter Britt, fifth place in the 1,600 meters at 5:24.36 and sixth place in the 800 meters at 2:34.11;
Rheo Schluckebier, sixth place in the 400 meters at 1:01.42 and eighth place in the 800 meters at 2:38.44;
Nick Kelso, eighth place in the 200 meters at 26.85; 10th place in the shot put at 8.97 meters; and 10th place in the discus at 22.85 meters;
Andrew Gerding, eighth place in the javelin at 24.34 meters and 10th place in the 100 meters at 14.65; and
Jamie Walker, ninth place in the 100 meters at 14.54; 11th place in the 200 meters at 30.33; 12th place in the shot put at 6.41 meters; and 12th place in the discus at 14.10 meters.
