The PHS boys track and field team finished fourth at the Clarence Cannon Conference meet in Ewing last Wednesday.
The Panthers scored 92 points to finish behind Monroe City, 145, Centralia, 135.5, and Highland, 112, but ahead of Macon, 88, Clark County, 72, South Shelby, 61.5 and Brookfield 30.
Scoring points for Palmyra were:
Hays Miller, first place in the 400 meters at 51.73; second place in the 200 meters at 22.27; and third place in the 100 meters at 11.32;
Carson Hicks, first place in the high jump at 1.82 meters;
the second place 4 x 400 meter relay team of Gideon Bogue, Daniel Dames, Marty Smyser and Miller at 3:38.88;
Caleb Juette, third place in the 800 meters at 2:12.50; fifth place in the 1,600 meters at 4:58.93; and eighth place in the 3,200 meters at 11:53.14;
Jose Juarez, fourth place in the shot put at 12.29 meters;
the fourth place 4 x 200 meter relay team of Dames, Noah Getz, Evan Pennewell and Smyser at 1:42.76;
Connor Bross, fifth place in the 3,200 meters at 11:30.04 eighth place in the 1,600 meters at 5:20.29;
the fifth place 4 x 800 meter relay team of Parker Bier, Bross, Carson Hicks and Juette at 9:25.06;
Getz, fifth place in the discus at 34.59 meters;
Christian Johnson, sixth place in the triple jump at 11.65 meters;
Bogue, seventh place in the 100 meters at 11.82;
Landen Gottman, eighth place in the high jump at 1.57 meters;
Brayden Madden, eighth place in the discus at 30.25 meters;
Jackson Hicks, eighth place in the shot put at 11.6 meters; and
Dakota Snyder, eighth place in the 800 meters at 2:22.07.
Results of the boys pole vault were not made available.
The Panthers now prepare to compete at the Class 3, District meet at Montgomery County Saturday, May 14, along with Boonville, Bowling Green, California, Centralia, Father Tolton Regional Catholic, Hallsville, Hermann, Macon, Montgomery County, North Callaway and Southern Boone.
