Straus, Wright qualify for state track meet

Two Marion County track and field athletes advanced to the state meet to be held this Friday and Saturday.
Delaney Straus, a senior, qualified in four events, while Levi Wright, a freshman, qualified in two during the Class 1, Sectional meet in Monroe City, Saturday.
Straus took first place in the 800 meters, 1,600 meters and 3,200 meters and also qualified in the triple jump with a fourth place finish.
Meanwhile, in boys competition, Wright placed second in both the 1,600 meters and 3,200 meters.
Only the top four finishers advanced to state.
Halle Keilholz, a senior, just missed qualifying in the 100 meter hurdles with a fifth place finish.
The 97th annual Missouri State High School Activities Association Class 1 & 2 Boys and Girls Track and Field Championships will be held this Friday and Saturday at Atkins Stadium at Jefferson City.
