Marion County’s Delaney Straus earned medals in three of her four events during the MSHSAA Class 1 State Track and Field Championships in Jefferson City Friday and Saturday.

Competing at Jefferson City High School’s Adkins Stadium, the senior took:
third place in the triple jump at 10.7 meters;
fourth place in the 3,200 meters at 12:28.87; and
fifth place in the 1,600 meters at 5:38.13.
She also took ninth in the 800 meters 2:30.73, with the top eight placers earning medals.
Levi Wright also competed at state but did not medal in either of his events.
Wright, a freshman in his first state experience, finished:
11th in the 3,200 meters at 11:09.06 and
14th in the 1,600 meters at 4:56.52.
