The Lady Panthers tennis team opened the season Aug. 30 with a 9-0 win at Moberly.
Winning singles matches were: Maura Gottamn (1), 8-6, over Kristyn Kruse; Molly Gottman (2), 8-3, over Hallie Kroner; Jeorgia O’Brien (3), 8-3, over Aleiya Myers; Kadlie Kroeger (4), 8-1, over Samantha Carl; Abbey Mann (5), 8-0, over Adeline Chang; and Marina Meyer (6), 8-1, over Catelyn Roberts.
Winning doubles matches were: Maura Gottman and Molly Gottman (1), 8-8 (6-4 tiebreaker), over Kruse and Kroner; O’Brien and Mann (2), 8-4, over Myers and Carl; and Kroeger and Meyer (3), 8-0, over Chang and Roberts.
Palmyra then lost the next day at QND, 2-7.
Winning their matches were marua Gottman (1) 6-4, 6-1, over Aly Young; and Maura Gottman and Molly Gottman (1), 6-4, 6-1 (10-7), over Young and Ava Jacobson.
Palmyra bounced back for a 5-4 win at home over Hannibal Sept. 1.
Winning singles matches were Molly Gottman (2), 8-4, over Brynn Burton; Kroeger (4), 8-5, over Olivia Rawlings; and Meyer (5), 8-1, over Sophie Albright.
Winning doubles matches were: Maura Gottman and Molly Gottman (1), 8-1, over Irelan Lomax and Lanie Privett; and Kroeger and Mann (3), 8-6, over Rawlings and Albright.
