The PHS varsity girls tennis team earned an impressive win against Quincy Notre Dame.

Palmyra (10-2) edged QND at home 5-4 last Tuesday.

Winning singles matches were: Maura Gottman (1), 8-6, over Evie Schuetz; Molly Gottman (2), 8-6, over Aly Young; and Marina Meyer (6), 8-3, over Morgan Zanger.

Wining doubles matches were Maura Gottman and Molley Gottman (2), 8-4, over Schuetz and Addi Zanger; and Hadlie Kroeger and Meyer (3), 8-6, over Ava Jacobson and Morgan Zanger.

The Lady Panthers also won a tournament in Hannibal, Sept. 24 that included varsity singles matches and junior varsity doubles matches.

Molly Gottman (2) and Meyers (6) both won first place by going 3-0. 

Meanwhile all four JV doubles pairs took first, including Ashley Bode and Emmalee Drebes (1), Laura Noland and Maggie Keim (2), Kenzie Bollin and Taytum White (3) and Rille Shrum and Elizabeth Salo (4).

In junior varsity action, Palmyra went to 11-0 with a, 13-11 win over QHS last Wednesday.

Winning singles matches were Keim, Kenzie Bollin, Rilie Shrum, Marissa Gottman, Lakeyn Smith, Wilt, Emily Comer Erin McChristy

Winning doubles were Noland and Keim, White and Smith, Marissa Gottman and Madizyn Wilt and Emily Comer and Ava Fohey.
