The PHS girls wrestling team competed in the Liberty-Wentzville Tournament Saturday and came away with three top-two winners.

Palmyra’s Ellyse Lorenson pins an opponent during the Palmyra Quad last Thursday.
Ellyse Lorenson won the 155-pound title while Grace Fessenden (235 pound) and Janie Triplett (135 pound) took second place.
Lorenson won four matches, taking first place by a 6-5 decision over Francis Howell Central’s Dana Thee Sanchez.
She advanced to the title match with a win by fall at 1:57 over Centralia’s Gretchen Marriott in the semifinals.
Lorenson’s quarterfinal match was a 6-1 decision winner over Maria Ignatova of Ft. Zumwalt West.
She opened the tournament with a win by fall at 0:17 over Clair Kienstra of Ladue Horton Watkins.
Fessenden went 3-1, losing in the championship round by fall at 0:57 to Dashiya Houston of Lafayette-Wildwood.
She advanced to the title match with a win by fall at 0:31 over Kirksville’s Destynee Small. Her other wins were a 5-2 decision over Troy Buchanan’s Rebeckah Gray in the quarterfinals and a win by fall at 1:41 over Holt’s Isabella Winigear.
Triplett won her first three matches before losing in the title match by fall at 0:32 to Hayley Newtown of St. Charles.
Her victories were all by fall against Kirksville’s Melody Hicks, St. Charles West’s Payton Hammack and Timberland’s Emily Sanabria.
Palmyra’s Aira Hamilton (125) placed sixth after going 3-2.
Also competing for Palmyra but not placing were Hannah Damron (100), Anna Ragar (120), Rilee Boatright (130), Summer Gollaher (140) and Lily Sharrow (170).
The team also hosted a quad Thursday, but results were not made available.
