The PHS boys track and field team competed at the South Shelby Open meet last Monday.
It was the first meet held at South Shelby’s new all-weather track and field facilities.
Placing for Palmyra were:
Carson Hicks, first place in the high jump at 5 feet, 11.75 inches;
Jose Juarez, first place in the shot put at 42-02.00 feet;
Evan Pennewell, second place in the pole vault at 12 feet, 10.75 inches;
Gage Barnett, second place in the shot put at 40-05.75 feet;
Luke Sheppard, third place in the 110 meter hurdles at 18.16, fifth place in the 300 meter hurdles at 47.47 and sixth place in the triple jump at 36-06.50 feet;
Carter Harper, third place in the 300 meter hurdles at 46.02 and fourth place in the long jump at 16-11.50 feet;
Connor Bross, fourth place in the 3200 meters at 11:46.94;
the seventh place 4 x 100 meter relay team of Daniel Dames, Pennewell, Parker Bier and Hicks at 49.66.
the seventh place 4 x 800 meter relay team of Bross, Bier, Landon Jurado and Harper at 9:48.23; and
Daniel Dames, eighth place in the 200 meters at 25.90.
The Panthers have been assigned to Class 3, District 4 this season along with, Boonville, Bowling Green, California, Centralia, Clark County, Father Tolton Regional Catholic, Hallsville, Macon, Montgomery County, North Callaway and Southern Boone.
