PHS boys golf team tops Monroe City, Highland

The PHS boys golf team won by three strokes over Monroe City and 20 over Highland during a home triangular Tuesday.
Palmyra shot a 165, while Monroe City carded a 168 and Highland, 185.
Palmyra’s Jonas Janes and Highland’s Peyton Miller earned co-medalist honors with 39s.
Also scoring for Palmyra were Skeeter Kroeger, 41, Preston Fuget, 42, and Aaron Ritchey, 43.
Abram Smyser shot a 43 and Tony White a 51, but the scores were dropped.
In junior varsity play, Palmyra won with an 185 over Monroe City, 192, and Highland, 226.
Palmyra’s Brett Tuter won medalist honors with a 44, and was followed by Tate Hammond, 46, Jeremiah Edwards, 46, Abram Getz, 49, Kyle Jackson, 51, and Shawn Hirner, 61.
The Panthers also won a trianglar at Highland, Monday, shooting a 175 to best Highland, 199, and Scotland County, 207.
Janes earned medalist honors with a 40, with Kroeger the runner-up at 41.
Also scoring for Palmyra were White, 46, and Ritchey, 48, with Fuget’s score of 48 dropped.
Palmyra also won the junior varsity match, shooting a 193 to top Highland, 222, and Scotland County 240.
Smyser earned medalist honors with a 46.
Also playing were Edwards, 48, Hammond, 49, Getz, 50, Jackson, 52, Tuter, 52, and Hirner, 58.
