The PHS boys track and field team competed at Jefferson City and Highland meets last seek.
The Panthers competed with 17 other teams at the 63rd LickLider Invitational in Jefferson City Saturday.
Placing in the top 10 for Palmyra were:
Evan Pennewell, third place in the pole vault at 3.81 meters;
Gideon Bogue, fifth place in the 100 meters at 11.31;
Carter Harper, sixth place in the pentathlon; and
Jose Juarez, eighth place in the shot put at 13.73 meters.
Other schools participating were Blair Oaks, Capital City, Clinton, East St. Louis, Eldon, Francis Howell, Hannibal, Harrisburg, Helias Catholic, Hickman, Jackson, Jefferson City, Liberty (Wentzville), Poplar Bluff, Rolla, South Callaway and Southern Boone.
The Panthers also competed along with 11 other teams at the Jerry Ball Relays hosted by Highland last Tuesday.
Placing in the top 10 for Palmyra were:
Pennewell, first place in the pole vault at 3.96 meters;
Carson Hicks, first place in the high jump at at 1.83 meters;
Luke Sheppard, third place in the high jump at 1.72 meters; fourth place in the 110 meter hurdles at 18.14; eighth place in the 300 meter hurdles at 48.16; and ninth place in the triple jump at 10.67 meters.
Harper, third place in the long jump at 5.21 meters; fourth place in the 300 meter hurdles at 45.16.
Bogue, fourth place in the 100 meters at 11.61;
the fourth place 4 x 400 meter relay team at 3:53.90;
the fifth place 4 x 100 meter relay team at 47.74;
the fifth place 4 x 200 meter relay team at 1:39.86;
the sixth place 4 x 800 meter relay team at 10:06.85;
Daniel Reid, seventh place in the javelin at 33.23 meters;
Ethan Redd, eighth place in the javelin at 32.91 meters;
Tanner Strubinger, eighth place in the discus at 29.68 meters;
Daniel Dames, 10th place in the 200 meters at 25.59; and
Gage Barnett, 10th place in the shot put at 10.70 meters.
Also competing were teams from Canton, Marion County, Scotland County, Clark County, Highland, Mark Twain, Owensville and Hannibal from Missouri, and Camp Point (Central), Liberty and Mendon-Unity, from Illinois.
