The PHS boys varsity golf team took third place at both the South Shelby and Centralia invitational tournaments last week.
The Panthers shot a 340 to finish behind Macon, 325, and South Shelby, 327 at Shelbina, but ahead of Milan, 362, Canton, 366, Paris, 368, Highland, 379, Monroe City, 379, and Clark County, 428, Wednesday.
Palmyra’s Jonas Janes, tied for medalist honors with Macon’s Hagan Ritter and South Shelby’s PJ Schmidt with a 79.
Also playing for Palmyra were Preston Fuget, 82, Tony White, 86, Skeeter Kroeger, 93, Tate Hammond, 95, and Abram Smyser, 102.
Palmyra shot a 362 at Centralia, Monday, to finish behind Hallsville, 323, Centralia, 344, but ahead of Harrisburg, 384, Van-Far, 390, Mexico, 393, Paris 412, South Callaway, 435, and Cairo, 463.
Janes led Palmyra with an 87 and was followed by Fuget, 88, Kroeger, 89, White, 98, and Smyser, 99.
The Panthers also competed at Clark County, Tuesday, but results were not available.
