The Marion County R-II baseball team went on a three-game winning streak last week with victories over Brashear, Highland and Madison.
The Mustangs (4-9) capped the week with a 9-8 walk-off thriller over Brashear on the home field Friday.
It was tied at eight going into the bottom of the seventh when Joey Lagemann reached second on a two-base error, moved to third on a single and stole home to win the game.
Lagemann and Jackson Stewart led the team’s seven-hit attack with two hits each.
Stewart started on the mound and went three inning before receiving relief help from Root Cheney, who went the final four innings, giving up three runs, only one of them earned while striking out eight.
The Mustangs earned a road victory, 7-3, over Highland, Tuesday.
Marion County lead all the way after scoring four runs in the first inning.
The Cougars countered with two in the bottom of the inning, but Mustang pitching held them to just one run the rest of the way.
Marion County took advantage of Cougar pitching wildness and fielding for the four-run first.
Lagemann and Stewart led off with walks in front of Cheney, who hit an RBI single.
A walk by Nathan Wright loaded the bases ahead of Paden Olson and Porter Britt who singled while Highland also committed errors on both hits.
Two more Highland fielding errors and a double by Cheney resulted in two more runs in the second to give Marion County a 6-2 lead.
Lagemann started on the mound and went six innings, giving up three runs, one of them earned, on five hits and three walks while striking out six.
Cheney pitched a scoreless seventh to finish the game out.
The Mustangs and Madison Bulldogs played a game last Monday that ended up with football-game score with Marion County coming out on top, 28-10.
The Mustangs amassed 25 hits, eight for extra bases, to score two runs in the first, five in the third, six in the fourth, five in the fifth and 10 in the sixth.
There were plenty of hitting stars on the team, but Lagemann topped everyone by going 6-for-6 with three doubles, two stolen bases, six runs scored and one driven in.
Cheney went 2-for-2 with a double and triple while scoring six runs and driving in four.
Britt had four hits and five RBI, while Stewart, Nick Kelso, Wright and Olson all had three hits.
Cheney started on the mound and was relieved by Wyatt Tuley, Britt and Lagemann.

They cap the regular season by hosting Missouri Military Academy, Monday, May 8.
