The PHS boys track and field team competed at Macon and Hannibal last week.
The Panthers finished sixth out of 13 teams at Macon’s Gerald Mansfield Invitational meet, Tuesday.

Palmyra scored 68 points to finish behind South Shelby, 95, Westran, 95, Marceline, 73, Macon, 72.5; and Kirksville, 68.50 but ahead of Monroe City, 61, Paris, 55, Moberly, 52, Salisbury, 51.50, Brookfield, 28, Schuyler County, 51.50, and Father Tolton Regional Catholic, 7.50.
Scoring points for Palmyra were:
Luke Sheppard, second place in the 110 meter hurdles at 16.37; second place in the 300 meter hurdles at 44.59; and third place in the triple jump at 10.97 meters
Gideon Bogue, second place in the 100 meters at 11.48;
Evan Pennewell, second place in the pole vault at 4.12 meters;
Jose Juarez, second place in the shot put at 13.84 meters;
the third place 4 x 400 meter relay team of Bogue, Connor Bross, Daniel Dames and Ethan Redd at 3:44.98;
Carson Hicks, fourth place in the high jump at 1.87 meters;
Bross, fourth place in the 1600 meters at 5:09.41;
the sixth place 4 x 200 meter relay team of Dames, Carter Harper, Hicks and Redd at 1:39.97;
Harper, seventh place in the 800 meters at 2:18.04; and

the eighth place 4 x 100 meter relay team of Parker Bier, Bogue, Hicks and Redd at 48,01.
Palmyra finished 11th out of 13 teams at the Mark Twain Relays in Hannibal Friday.
The Panthers scored 18 points, while Bowling Green won the meet with 129 points.
Placing in the top 10 for Palmyra were:
Pennewell, first place in the pole vault at 4.10 meters;
Hicks, fourth place in the high jump at 1.85 meters;
Juarez, fifth place in the shot put at 13.48 meters;
Bogue, sixth place in the 100 meters at 11.21 and sixth place in the 200 meters at 23.2;
Sheppard, eighth place in the 110 meter hurdles at 17.38 and eighth place in the 300 meter hurdles at 46.02;
Dames, eighth place in the 400 meters at 56.16;
the ninth place 4 x 200 meter relay team of Dames, Harper, Hicks and Redd at 139.04; and
Daniel Reid, 10th place in the javelin at 30.42 meters.
Also competing were Ft. Zumwalt North, Quincy (Ill.) High School, Rushville, Ill., Kirksville, Jacksonville (Ill.), Carthage (Ill.), Mark Twain, Liberty (Ill.), Ft. Zumwalt South and Pittsfield (Ill.)
