The PHS boys track and field team qualified for sectionals in five events during the Class 3, District 4 meet in Wentzville, Saturday.
As a team, the Panthers finished 10th out of 12 teams as Bowling Green won it with 134 points.
Sectionals will be held Saturday in Mexico with the top-four finishers in each event qualifying for the state meet in Jefferson City May 26-27.
Qualifying for sectionals by placing in the top four at districts were:
Evan Pennewell, second place in the pole vault at 13.09 meters;
Carson Hicks, third place in the high jump at six feet, 1.5 inches;
Gideon Bogue, fourth place in the 200 meters at 23.44;
Jose Juarez, fourth place in the shot put at 13.67 meters; and
Carter Harper, fourth place in the 300 meter hurdles at 43.48.
Scoring points were:
Bogue, fifth place in the 100 meters at 11.41;
Luke Sheppard, sixth place in the 110 meter hurdles at 16.55 and seventh place in the 300 meter hurdles at 44.01;
the seventh place 4 x 200 meter relay team of Bogue, Daniel Dames, Harper and Hicks at 1:40.08; and
the seventh place 4 x 400 meter relay team of Dames, Harper, Bogue and Ethan Redd at 3:44.01.
